Literacy in Our Communities

The Bakery BookShelf

The Uvita Build a Personal Library Project is underway at The Bakery along with the team at Flo Retreat Center. People have been donating books to fill the shelves for children, teens, and adults to take a book to build their own personal library and leave a book for others.

Free Monthly Family Nights

Since 2021, The iAmYes! Project has been sponsoring the multiply book offerings at the Soarin4 Family Events that teach parents how to use the free materials and books that are distributed to support classroom learning  in the home environment through play and exploration..

The Community Foundation of Sarasota County, NAMI, and The iAmYes Project collaborated to bring the Scholastic Book Fair to the after school programs 6 Boys & Girls Clubs and Girls Inc. 1043 students participated and had the opportunity to choose books that interested them. Many thanks to the multiple volunteers who prepped the locations for the fair, who assisted helping children choose books, write their names on their book plates,

and showed up as

amazing stewards for our community's children.

The School Based Book Joy Project

For the last two school years, The iAmYes! Project has sponsored the Scholastic Book Fair for those Brookside Middle School students who are unable to participate due to financial restraints. All students have access to the beloved Scholastic book fair.
